Chalet Bel Atome

The Chalet Bel Atome is located in the centre of Megeve about 5 minutes walk from the Telecabine du Chamois.

This is a traditional alpine chalet that is superbly situated and is decorated to the highest quality. The living areas are on the two upper floors of the chalet, giving spectacular views over the Megeve valley. The dining and lounge areas are extensive and the latter is based around a large open log fire. There is ample seating area for about 14 guests. Both areas lead on to a south-facing balcony that is equipped with tables and chairs for those who wish to soak up the sun when taking a break from skiing! The kitchen is separate from the living area, therefore keeping the menu for the evening a surprise!

Chalet Bel Atome comfortably sleeps 10 people. There are 5 bedrooms:-

2 doubles with en-suite facilities

1 double with washbasin – shared facilities (see below).

2 twins – with shared bathroom with WC, a shower room and a separate WC.

See floor plan below for further details.

There is a satellite TV and video for the guest's use as well as a CD player. A washing machine and dryer are also available on request. Entrance with skis and boots is via the garage, where skiing equipment is stored over night to keep them safe and dry and is only accessible with a key code.

Your chef for the week has been trained to the highest standards at Le Cordon Bleu School in London. This is the ultimate in French cuisine but, because we believe that perhaps not everybody will want a three course gourmet meal every night, we are more than happy to vary the menu to suit your tastes. Breakfast will be served between 8 and 9.30am and there will be a selection of items to choose from:- tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh juices, fresh bread, toast, croissants, cereals, porridge and a hot item for the day!

We are also going to offer a packed lunch for all our guests – this must be requested the day before and there will be an extra charge for this service. Food boxes and flasks will be provided as well as rucksacks for those who may need these.

A cake and selection of biscuits will be put out for you to help yourselves on your return to the chalet, and you’ll have full use of the tea and coffee making facilities. In the evenings we plan to serve a three-course meal for 4 nights, a four-course meal for 1 night and a five-course meal for 1 night. As mentioned earlier this is open to your suggestions – if you just fancy a pasta dish, or something else of your choice, we will try to accommodate your wishes. Dinner will usually be served at 8pm but given advance notice, this can be varied to suit your requirements. Any special dietary arrangements can also be catered for, as long as we are told in advance.

For the remaining night of the week (usually a Wednesday) you will be asked to eat out to give your chalet chef a day off! There are around 70 restaurants to choose from in the resort, ranging from traditional Savoyard to Italian. It is said that Megeve has some of the best mountain restaurants in France, so if your skiing does not improve, your knowledge of French cuisine certainly will! We will be more than happy to recommend and book a restaurant of your choice.

High tea will be available for children on request and this will be served after 5pm, at a time convenient to you. This will usually consist of children’s food i.e. pizza, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, cottage pie, Bolognese etc. Alternatively they are more than welcome to dine with you at 8pm from that day’s menu.

Having had some experience of catered chalets which provide a fixed choice of wine we thought it would be beneficial to provide you with a selection of wines. Many of the dishes served in the evenings will be from different regions of France, so this gives you an opportunity to try wines and foods from various regions.

There will also be a small mini-bar with soft drinks and beers available for a small extra charge.
